This new compilation contains about 6,500 records, and gives the name and place of birth of the child, names and places of birth of the parents or the names and places of residence of the informants, name-spelling variations as they appear in the original record, and the cause of death as originally stated in the records. Record numbers provided in this work correspond with the official death record numbers on file in the Tennessee State Library and Archives, thus permitting researchers to check the complete record if desired. The author is a retired Lieutenant Colonel, and is compiling more death records for other counties in Tennessee.
