This large volume is the result of seventy years of dedicated research. It includes information on the direct line of Crawfords as well as related families. The work is an extension of the Crawford line from Thor “The Tall” son of Leofwine (ancestor of the House of Crawford) to Crawfords in America that can be connected with the descendants of Captain Thomas Crawford (1550–1605) of Jordan Hill fame. The story begins with the Moses Crawford family of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Some of this data is documented by legal records, some documented by unpublished manuscripts, writings of historians, genealogical reports, and county histories. Deeds, mortgages and obituaries give additional information on this family line. Included are detailed sketches of gravestones, placement in the cemeteries, and plats belonging to the Crawfords. Some of the photographs are over 100 years old. A full-name index adds to the value of this work.
