Daviess County, located in the northwestern portion of the State, was one of those counties with a full rich history from the beginning in 1836. It seems, according to the Mormon Church, that Joseph Smith had a vision in 1838 that this area was where Adam and Eve relocated after being banished from the Garden Of Eden and was where believers were to gather prior to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. In 1869 Jesse James robbed the Daviess County Savings Association in 1869 and thus began his career as a bank/train robber.

In this volume you will find a brief history of the area, a listings of Town lots in Gallatin, Daviess Marriages 1855-1865, Residents in 1876 and the death register 1883 - 1893.
