Her series of interviews, in conjunction with the National Society DAR and the Alliance for American Quilts, preserved in the Library of Congress. She initiated the “One-On-One” program at the Ohio Genealogical Society in 2010. In 2013, she received the Presidential Silver Volunteer Service Award from President Barack Obama.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMarlene’s interest in the Revolutionary War period, and her research capabilities, have enabled her to locate soldiers and patriots who have been forgotten. In order to trace the county's earliest settlers, the author consulted the land records of the Northwest Territory, State of Ohio, Indiana Territory, and Switzerland County, Indiana, as some of these individuals settled (squatted) in the current Switzerland County area when it was still a part of the Northwest Territory. Several dozen sources were examined to determine the service of these Revolutionary soldiers.
