This book lists the German immigrants in Quincy, who came from the Emsland, Oldenburger Münsterland and Osnabrücker Land. Quincy's German immigrants came from many different areas in Germany, including Baden, Westphalia, Hanover, Oldenburg, East Frisia, Hesse, Bavaria, Thuringia and Wuertemberg. The majority of Quincy's German immigrants were Niederdeutsch (from northwestern Germany): 1,100 are covered in this work and 1,500 from the author's previous work.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eThe author's preliminary research has identified an additional 2,200 persons who are known to have immigrated to Quincy from the Westphalian regions of Paderborn, Arnsberg and especially Herford\/Bielefeld. Hundreds more came here from East Frisia. Biographical entries include: date and place of birth, surname, given name, date of marriage, emigration, town in Germany, death in Quincy, occupation, residence, migration, and sources.
