Historic Towns of the Connecticut River Valley

$38.50

The first white settlement in the Connecticut Valley was made in Wethersfield in 1634 when Captain William Holmes set up his frame trading house, which later became a settlement. This book presents a history of settlement in the Connecticut River Valley from Saybrook, Connecticut, in the south to Windsor, Vermont, in the north by means of brief sketches of over fifty towns. There are over 160 photographs depicting scenes and homesteads. Mention is made of many early settlers. A full-name index completes this work.
