SImpson County, Kentucky History and Biographies
Simpson County was created in 1819 out of parts of Warren, Allen and Logan Counties and bears the name of Captain John Simpson, a statesman and soldier, and one of the many victims of the River Raisin disaster. This volume is taken primarily from the “History of Kentucky” by Lewis Collins written in 1882. A second source is “KENTUCKY: A History of the State” by W. H. Perin, J. H. Battle and G. C. Kniffin written in 1885. These biographical sketches are taken from the families themselves and therefore, they are more accurate than other sources.
