$38.00

The first third of this volume consists of a history of Albemarle County from its first settlement to the mid-1800s. There are numerous references to the early settlers in the historical chapters, and the final two-thirds consists primarily of family histories of about two hundred families. There are also several appendices containing petitions, militia rolls, lists of officials, a listing of Albemarle residents who emigrated to other states which specifies the state and county to which they removed, and a list of deaths from 1744 to 1890. This edition includes a new every-name index by Roger L. Goodman.
