Walland is a community in Blount County nestled in the foothills of the Smokies. Millers Cove Baptist Church is one of the oldest churches in this section of the east Tennessee area. The church was the first Missionary Baptist church organized in 1810 and they began their records then and have kept them down to the present time. The first meeting place was a log building used jointly by Methodists, Primitive Baptists, and Missionary Baptists. The contents of this volume contain the records of the church for the twelve years given and were found in very deteriorated conditions in the library in Knoxville. We have present a copy of the original on one side of the page with the transcription on the other to allow the reader to determine if the names, etc. are correctly transcribed. The construction of the index is most valuable as it takes each persons named and list a variety of items given for each.
