Hart County, Kentucky History and Biographies
Hart County, Kentucky was the sixty-first county created by the state in 1819 out of parts of Hardin and Green counties and named in honor of Captain Nathaniel G. T. Hart. The Green River divides the county. Each of the biographical sketches are records submitted by the individual families and, therefore, are deemed very accurate in as far as the families at that time would have known the information.

a. The History of Kentucky, by Lewis Colins, published 1882 or
b. Kentucky: A History of The State, by W.H. Perrin, J.H. Battle & G.C. Kniffin, published 1885.
These two books set the standard for Kentucky history and pioneer biographies.
