Since Jefferson County was created in 1836-1837 out of Mexican Municipality of Liberty County, it is one of the oldest counties in Texas. This is the first record of their marriages. Many of the names are in French, German and Spanish, therefore the spelling may be somewhat off from what they are today. Study the index carefully.
