Putnam County, Georgia History & Biographies
Putnam County, located in the north center of the state, is named in honor of Israel Putnam, who was a hero in the French and Indian War and a general in the American Revolutionary War. It was created on December 10, 1807. The biographical portions of this material were submitted by the families themselves.
