Although this census names only the head of household, often when an individual was missed on the regular census, he would appear on the agricultural census. Unfortunately, many of the agricultural censuses have not survived, but they do yield unique information about how people lived. There are forty-eight columns of information in the agricultural census, six of which are listed here. They include name of owner, improved acreage, unimproved acreage, cash value of the farm, value of farm implements and machinery, and value of livestock. This volume includes the counties of Alachua, Benton, Calhoun, Columbia, Dade, Duval, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Hamilton, Hillsborough, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon, Levy, Madison, Marion, Monroe, Nassau, Orange, Putnam, St. Johns, Santa Rosa, Wakulla, Walton, and Washington. A list of the other types of information available on the agricultural census, and a surname index add to the value of this work.
