Webster County, Kentucky Biographies
Webster County, was created in 1860 in the western coal field area of the state. Dixon was named the county seat. This volume of biographies is taken from two sources. The first is “History of Kentucky” written by Lewis Collins in about 1882. The second source is “Kentucky: A History of the State” compiled by W. H. Perin, J. H. Battle and G. C. Kniffin about 1885. Since most of the biographical materials came from the families themselves, we can rely on their accuracy more than other sources.
