The Old Santa Fe Trail

$48.00

Colonel Inman (1837-1899) served in the Indian campaigns in the Was, was a journalist in Kansas, and wrote several works on the West, one in collaboration with his friend, William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody. In this work he presents a popular history of this important trail (which extended from Leavenworth, Kansas to Santa Fe, New Mexico) from the time of the Spanish explorers to the late nineteenth century based in part on his own personal experiences.  Illustrated with eight full-page plates by Frederick Remington, numerous pen and ink sketches by Thomson Willing.
