The Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was the first cathedral in Baltimore. Catholics from all walks of life were baptized at this church. Since civil registration of births was not required in Baltimore until 1875, this is an excellent source for birth dates. Indexed by mothers’ names and in alphabetical order by person baptized.
