Guadalupe County was created in 1846 from the territories of Gonzales and Bexar Counties. These marriage records are the first two registers of those records. These thirty-seven years are important to historian and genealogical researchers since the first settlers of the county are contained in these records. The volume consists of two alphabetical listings, one for the grooms and the other for the brides. Each listing contains the date the licenses were issued, and the names of the bride and groom.
