This book contains abstracts of Westmoreland County court orders from 29 August 1758 to 28 May 1761, original pages 1 through 219. Court order book entries include nominations and appointments, oaths, bills of sale, bonds, deeds, guardians, slaves and servants, apprenticeships, and much more. Entries include the full names of all persons involved and many reveal relationships.
The original page number is given prior to the abstract of that page. Punctuation has been added in numerous instances for clarity. Present-day spellings are used in some cases, such as motion for mocon, presentment for prsentmt, etc. Many of the legal phrases were not changed. An index to full-names and places adds to the value of this work.
