These marriage records of Fayette are the earliest records for the county which was created in 1838 out of Colorado and Bastrop Counties. Each of the entries give the date the license was issued and the names of the bride and groom. Only the name of the official is left out of these records. Copies of the original with a few more details can be obtained from the Court House at LaGrange, Texas.
