A virtual "who's-who" of pioneer Caldwell County, the biographies and history contained in this reprint were originally published in History of Kentucky by Lewis Collins, published in 1882 or Kentucky: A History of the State by W. H. Perrin, J. H. Battle and G. C. Kniffin published in 1885. These two books set the standard for Kentucky history and pioneer biographies. Most of the biographical material was submitted by the individuals or their families, and therefore should be more accurate than other sources.
