Taken from the 1916 Rand McNally Ideal Atlas of the World that included a sixteen-page supplement entitled "Rand McNally New Detailed Survey of Carroll County, Maryland."
The supplement contained separate district plats showing the location of rural homes with names of owners, permanent tenants and acreage of farms. It also includes schools, churches, mills and stores. An index to the maps is included.
