Campbell County, Kentucky was formed in 1794 from Harrison, Mason, and Scott Counties. In 1840, Kenton County was formed from Campbell taking nearly half of the land.
This volume encompasses will books A and B covering the years 1794 to 1830. Records include wills, inventories, sales, dowers, guardianships, land divisions, and more. Each entry contains the name of the individual and type of instrument, the volume and page, the date of the instrument, and the date it was recorded. Entries may also list the name of the spouse, child/children, grandchild/grandchildren, in-law(s), slave(s), executor(s), witnesses, and other names mentioned. No attempt to correct spellings or interpret abbreviations has been made by the compiler. Notes for the genealogist or historian are also included in this book. Many of the wills, sales, depositions, etc. have clues to further research. A full-name index and an index of slave names add to the value of this work.
