Transcribes personal property deeds for Davidson Co., including deeds of trust, deeds of gift, deeds of transfer, bills of sale, mortgages, marriage agreements, powers of attorney and other agreements. A preponderance of slave sales. ***Historic Sumner County, Tennessee with Genealogies of the Bledsoe, Cage and Douglass Families and Genealogical Notes of Other Sumner County Families - Jay Guy Cisco (1909). Contains some of the most interesting details about the first settlement and the first settlers of the county. ***History of Sweetwater Valley - W. B. Lenoir (1916). Describes the beginnings of Sweetwater Valley through a series of stories. Biographies represent the main text, which ends with churches, schools and local Civil War skirmishes. ***Historical Sketches of the Holston Valleys - Thomas W. Preston (1926). The Holston River valleys, also known as the Kingsport Territory, lie mainly in northeastern TN. This book traces their history from the time when they were inhabited by the predecessors of the Cherokee Indians.
