This genealogy of the Fouse (Fauss) family begins with Theobald Fauss born in 1725 in Bavaria and wed to Margaret in 1746. They had five children: Nicholas, Jacob, Valentine, Theobald, Jr. and Margaret. Nicholas and Theobald, Jr. both immigrated to Baltimore in 1784. Theobald remained in Baltimore, married and established a good trade in shoemaking. Theobald and his wife had three daughters and two sons. Theobald remarried after her death and had two daughters with his second wife, Catharine. Nicholas settled in Maryland, worked as a blacksmith and married Margaret Brumbaugh. They later settled in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania where they purchased 135 acres and raised their family of three daughters and seven sons. The descendants of these two brothers through the sixth generation and their family connections fill these pages. Some of the connected families include Acker, Brumbaugh, Cramer, Garner, Greaser, Miller, Nicodemus, and Shontz. Biographical information is included wherever possible. A detailed index gives easy access to information.
