These abstracts of the Minute and Order Books of Fauquier County, Virginia, cover the years 1776-1782. This work was originally compiled as an appendix to T. Triplett Russell and John K. Gott's Fauquier County in the American Revolution. However, this material was not included due to size considerations.These abstracts are filled with information of interest to genealogists and local historians. Entries contain a wealth of names and sometimes list relationships. A wide variety of issues are recorded: everything from road repair to runaway slaves to wills. The Court Book Records include entries for 1776 to 1780 and the Minute Book Records include entries for 1781 to 1782. A surname index adds to the value of this work.
