CD: Prindle-Pringle Genealogy - Robert E. Wallace. Utilizing a ninety year old previously unpublished manuscript, researched and compiled from 1881 to 1906 by Franklin Cogwell Prindle (Rear Admiral, U.S.N., deceased), then modified and updated by Edith May (Hendley) Tallmadge in the 1930’s, Robert E. Wallace has made further additions and brought this wealth of information up to the 1960’s. In his forward, Admiral Prindle gives a brief history of the Pringle name in Scotland from its early prominence in Alexander Pringle, one of the promoters of the fourth Crusade, and Sir James Pringle, a favored Knight of King Robert the Bruce, to its prevalence in the northern counties of England and the southeastern counties of Scotland by the end of the 19th century. Admiral Prindle cites several of the traditions passed down to explain the immigration of this man and to provide connections with Prindle-Pringle families in Massachusetts, Virginia, North Carolina, and Canada, but none of them can be confirmed. Hence, this genealogy begins with William Prindle of New Haven. 2005, CD,Graphic Images, Adobe Acrobat 6, PC and Mac,171 pp. 101-CD3921 ISBN: 0788439219
