Nolan County, Texas was created in 1876 out of the lands of Palo Pinto County but not organized until 1888. These probate records give the names of the deceased, minor and other principals in alphabetical order with the date of the case and the case number. In the court house, they are arranged by case number and the county court clerk has charge of them.
