Fredericksburg, Virginia Death Records, 1853-1895

$22.00

This important reference contains data on 2,051 cards used to record deaths in the Fredericksburg area from 1853 to 1895 which were nearly lost to researchers. "During a 'house-cleaning' operation, the 2,051 cards were destined for the waste-bin…", but fortunately for researchers, "they were saved by an interested on-looker…". The records are listed alphabetically by surname, and generally indicate the date and cause of death, the person's birthplace and age, pertinent family relationships, who reported the death, and occasionally, occupation and marital status. There are two valuable indexes included in this work, one which lists buried names that differ from that of the principal entry, and another which cross-references geographic locations found in the records. Also of interest is a list of causes of death.
