Our Maryland Heritage, Book 15: The Warfield Families - William Neal Hurley, Jr. This work is fifteenth in a series about Maryland families. The author now turns his attention to the Warfield families. Those Warfields covered in this text are primarily of Montgomery and Frederick Counties, but information is included on numerous family members with origins in Anne Arundel County, elsewhere within the state and abroad. The progenitor of the Warfield line in Maryland is identified as Londoner Richard Warfield (b.1646), an indentured servant who arrived in Annapolis in 1659. After being released from service in 1669, Richard secured a land grant in Anne Arundel County which by the time of his death in 1704 covered some 2,000 acres. The descendents of Richard are traced through the families of two of his sons, John (b.1673) and Richard, Jr. (b. circa 1677). A complete bibliography follows the text as well as a fullname index.
