Hough and Huff Families of the United States, 1620-1820: The East

$35.00

Originally offered in the 1970s as two volumes, they have now been combined in this new printing: all the eastern seaboard states are covered (ME, NH, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, DC, VA, NC, SC, GA, FL) plus Vermont, the West Indies, and the Canadian Loyalists. Families with the phonetic "huff" surname, regardless of the actual spelling of the name, began immigrating to the U.S. in 1619. The most heavily used source for this compilation were Federal census records; other sources include pension records, a variety of previously published materials (books and genealogical periodicals), and non-Federal censuses. Information varies widely for each person but generally includes name, dates of birth and death, state and county of residence, name of spouse, and names of children; additional material might cover the names of the subject's parents and the names of the children's spouses.
