Also Genealogical Sketch of the Hazards of the Middle States
The first half of this book is made up of detailed and entertaining recollections of life in Narragansett in the 1700s. Local characters and officials, murders and elopements, slavery and Indians, snow storms and gales are among the topics recalled. The second half of the book contains comprehensive genealogies of the Robinson, Hazard and Sweet families of Narragansett. The Robinson family is traced from Rowland Robinson (b.1654) of Cumberland, England. Thomas Hazard settled in Rhode Island about the year 1639, by way of New Jersey or Long Island; his line is traced thoroughly through seven generations. The Sweet family came to America from Wales in 1630. This family is traced for seven generations.
