Originally published in 2001, the book has been out of print for a number of years. It contains a general history of Johnson County, and histories of some county churches, businesses and coal mines. The book also contains histories of 353 Johnson County families, a treasure trove for genealogical researchers. The book is lavishly illustrated, with 77 photographs of various county scenes and 328 family photographs.
