This book endeavors to present a new line of the Francis Purdy family, one of the oldest families of Westchester County, New York. There are genealogies and histories which document the early Purdy families as well as the families of the women who married Purdy men. Much of this book refers to those previous sources, making additions and corrections with regards to lines of the authors family. After the first six generations of Purdy lines (Francis, Joseph, Samuel, Samuel, Jacob, Jacob) which are the previously documented generations, the author ventures into new territory, genealogically and geographically speaking.
