The Scotts of Hominy Ridge - Robert Kelley. The Scotts of Hominy Ridge is a story that has its beginnings in Pennsylvania with the arrival of Providence Mounts and his family from Cumberland, Maryland. One of the children, by the name of Thomas, eventually married Nancy Crawford (Connell), the daughter of Ann Matthews Connell. One of the daughters of Thomas and Nancy was Rachel, who later married William Scott. They purchased a farm in Switzerland County, Indiana, where they reared ten children. Five of those children (three sons and two daughters) made their way west via the Oregon Trail. This story will be of importance to anyone interested in Mounts, Crawford and Scott heritage. The author, Robert L. Kelley, is a third great-grandson of Thomas and Nancy Mounts. A wealth of photographs enhance the text. (2000), 2012, 5½x8½, paper, 132 pp.
