Mr. Swope's original publication had no index, making the names of potential ancestors difficult to find. Mr. McElwain has abstracted data of genealogical interest found in the original and arranged it in a concise, tabular format; material originally in tabular form has been made more readily accessible by giving each person his or her own entry. Sections are divided into admissions and memberships, baptisms and births, marriages, deaths and grave inscriptions, and miscellaneous information. In an appendix, the author attempts to ascertain the date of the church census taken at the beginning of the pastorate of Rev. Wilson.
