The Bucks County Recorder of Deeds began the Miscellaneous Docket series in 1785 to record various transactions other than standard transfers of real estate. The transactions in the Miscellaneous Dockets include powers of attorney, releases of executors and administrators, releases of guardians, dower releases, assignments of property, bills of sale, marriage certificates, pre-nuptial agreements and articles of marriage separation. Since many of these transactions are related to estate settlements, they contain a wealth of valuable genealogical information, especially family relationships and dates of death.
This work contains abstracts of transactions recorded in Miscellaneous Docket Volumes 13-31, recorded during the period 1857-1900. Each entry contains a summary of the transaction, the volume and page where recorded and the date of the transaction (which may differ from the date the transaction was recorded). Not all transactions were abstracted-the emphasis was on transactions containing information of genealogical interest. A surname index adds to the value of this work.
