Depositions are very important sources for genealogical and historical information.
These early depositions were quite brief; most were a couple of sentences or a paragraph or two, with only a few going beyond one page. In that regard, most of them are sworn statements rather it may, and not matter how brief they actually were, most of them have revealed information that is useful in genealogical research.
