London Town reminds us that history has losers as well as winners. For half a century, London Town vied with Annapolis for economic dominance of Tidewater Maryland. Founded in 1683, a century later, it was failing. A couple of decades later, it was dead. The only remaining building was a big brick mansion would become the county poor house.
