This unique book lists alphabetically all the tombstones that show at least one name associated with an origin in Ireland. The information for all persons listed on that stone was copied. Information may include place of origin, family relationships, dates of birth and/or death, age, military distinction, place of death, occupation, and fraternal or religious societies. Over 5400 names have been recorded. This book also contains a short history of Holy Cross, a map of the cemetery, articles, and tables concerning the Irish born interred there. This collection of tombstone abstracts is an important resource for genealogists who are searching for the place of origin of their Irish born ancestors. In many cases, an immigrant's tombstone is the only existing record of his or her place of origin.
