Records you may find include appointments of local officials, records of legal disputes such as property disputes, estate disputes, and disputes involving slaves and servants, certificates granted for apprehending runaway servants and delivering letters, and much more. This information is similar to our present day small claims and civil courts. This volume contains entries from Middlesex County, Virginia Order Book No. 2, 1680-1694 beginning on page 241 and ending on page 465 for courts held March 1, 1685/6 through April 7, 1690.
