Will books are one of the best resources for determining family relationships in genealogy research. This volume contains entries from Fairfax County, Virginia Will Book G, 1794–1799, beginning on page 377 and ending on page 484 for courts held 21 May 1798 through 15 July 1799; and, Fairfax County, Virginia Will Book H, 1799–1801, beginning on page 1 and ending on page 249 for courts held through 20 July 1801. The first entry in Will Book H is the will of George Washington written at Mount Vernon and dated 9 July 1799; brought into the Fairfax County Court held 20 January 1800.

In addition to the full name of the deceased, these records offer a rich source of names, which may include spouse, children, relatives, witnesses, and/or others. The bequests listed in the wills also provide a fascinating look at possessions during this time period. An every-name and place index adds to the value of this work.
