This collection of birth, marriage and death records was compiled by various individuals and organizations at various times, and collected together here as a matter of convenience. These records constitute a major resource for Massachusetts research. While the format varies somewhat from volume to volume, they were usually compiled by combining information from town, church, and private records with cemetery inscriptions and extracts from county records—a boon to researchers interested in southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
