Cherokee Reservoir Grave Removals, Tennessee Valley Authority

The T.V.A. grave removal records for the Cherokee Reservoir cover those cemeteries that were involved in Hawkins, Grainger, Jefferson and Hamblen Counties in upper east Tennessee. Included are the re-interment cemeteries as well. The plat maps of many of these cemeteries are all that are left since most of them were flooded when the reservoir was finished.

Example from this volume:
“No. 32 LYONS CEMETERY - Contains one grave which was not re-interred. Found in Hamblen County, Tennessee on the lands of E. H. Lyons, et ux, Maude.”
