Bledsoe County, one of the older counties in East Tennessee, is the oldest county in what is known as the Sequatchie Valley. These families migrated in the early 1800s to settle in the rich valley land along the Sequatchie River. Many of these families still remain there to this day. Ms Robnett wrote short biographical sketches of more than 70 families found in the "head" of the valley now called Bledsoe County. Being the historian for that county and having taught school there for most all of her life, Ms. Robnett is a descendant of a number of these early families. If you have anyone from the Sequatchie Valley, you will want this book to help in your research of your family. She includes a source of references for each of the families that will help in your own search.
