Lancaster, Harvard, Bolton, Leominster, Sterling, Berlin, West Boylston, and Hudson, Massachusetts
This important compilation contains inscriptions for the period from the establishment of the towns down to the middle of the 1900s; there are only a scattering of these later dates and the bulk of the inscriptions are for people who died prior to 1900. These Massachusetts towns include: Lancaster, incorporated 1653; Harvard, incorporated 1732; Bolton, incorporated 1738; Leominster, incorporated 1740; Sterling, incorporated 1781; Berlin, incorporated 1784; West Boylston, incorporated 1808; and, Hudson, incorporated 1866. Any cemetery that was not started until 1850 was not copied. These inscriptions were copied and organized by the members of The Lancaster League of Historical Societies and include the name of the deceased, death and birth dates, age, relationships, and comments on military service to the extent that this information is given on the gravestones. An every-name index adds to the value of this work.
