This work is an early history of the island with an emphasis on the land and it passage from owner to owner. It is based largely on the first three record books which include deeds, land grants, court proceedings, election results, and estate settlements. It is a consolidation of Numbers 1 - 7 of Volume 2 of the Nantucket Historical Society Bulletin.
