Marriage and Death Notices from The Abbeville Banner, 1846-1860

Two early Abbeville newspapers have proved to be rich resources for upcountry South Carolina. One of them, The Banner, was a weekly publication founded in 1844, serving primarily the Abbeville District, which now comprises Abbeville, Greenwood and McCormick counties.
