McLean County, Kentucky was the 103rd county erected by the state of Kentucky, created out of parts of Daviess, Muhlenburg and Ohio Counties in 1854. It was named in honor of Judge Alney McLean. The information for this volume are reprinted from two sources, first History of Kentucky by Lewis Collins in 1882 and secondly, KENTUCKY: A History of the State by W. H. Perin, J. H. Battle, and G. C. Kniffin in 1885. The biographical materials were submitted by various families and not just the elite ones. For this reason, most of the information should be more accurate than other sources.
