Scott County, Missouri History and Biographies

Scott County, located in the southeastern portion of the state, is found on the Mississippi River. The county was created in 1821 and was named for John Scott, the first congressman from the State of Missouri. This volume contains a brief history of the county from the creation up to the time of the publication of the original material in the mid-1880s. The family sketches in this volume were submitted by the families themselves, therefore, they are more accurate than some other sources.
