Macon County, Missouri, located in the northeastern portion of the state, was created on 6 January 1837 and named for Nathaniel Macon, an American Revolutionary War hero and North Carolina politician. In this volume, we find a brief history of the county, a listing of the pioneer settlers of 1833-1844, a list of marks and brands 1837-1855, Marriage Book B 1854-1856 and Book C 1856-1860, and Patron of the Atlas of 1875.
